Ayurveda in Action: How to Practice Personalized, Preventative Health This Fall
Oct 26, 2025
This weekend we hosted an Ayurveda Wellness Day at Synergy Collaborative Health. Drs. Kulwinder and Harpal Rajewal were seeing clients all day, and I led a workshop on my Top 5 Ayurvedic Tips for Fall. The practices I return to every year to stay grounded, hydrated, and emotionally steady through this season of change.
Ayurveda is meant to be Personalized, Preventative, Participatory, Predictive medicine. Sometimes called the P4 Model. It is a shift from reactive treatment (waiting till something is wrong) to a proactive model that you in relationship with your body and your natural rhythms. Enhancing your Ability to be in Response to YOU.
This approach asks you to tap into:
- your unique constitution (genetic expression)
- the environment you live in (climate)
- and lifestyle data (workload, relationships, sleep, nourishment, movement).
Using this information, you begin to predict your own patterns. You can see what tends to get thrown off for you in certain seasons, and then prevent imbalance with small, seasonally aligned changes.
Our health care system is a fantastic sick care system. It has great solutions once disease has taken hold - acute care, prescriptions, surgery, we are lucky to have it. But, how many times have you had a doctor say to you something like:
"lets keep an eye on it"
"if it gets worse come back"
"not sure what this is lets do more tests".
That’s the exact moment you should Congratulate yourself. You’ve caught imbalance before it became disease. Nice Work.
In Ayurveda, there are six stages of disease, and you don’t reach diagnosable illness until stage four. The first three stages? Totally reversible.
How? By returning to what Ayurveda calls the Three Pillars of Health:
- Nourishment
- Sleep
- Energy Management
So yes, you can keep pushing until you hit stage 4, 5, or 6…
Or you can start practicing Ayurveda's P4 Healthcare and choose to be proactive, rhythmic, and aligned with your needs.
