Ready for some Civil Disobedience?
Aug 20, 2026
We live in a world that has trained us for disconnection.
Even the games we play - board games, click-bait online games, TV reality shows - everything has a winner and a loser. We don't learn that cooperation helps us all succeed. We learn that someone wins and someone loses. We live our lives trying not to be the loser. Taught to 'fight' disease, even the messages of our own body something we need to battle.
The whole paradigm is messed up.
Have you seen that meme... "imagine how much propaganda it took to convince us that...."
- THIS is normal, the goal, right (cue visual of drugs, processed food, factories, war)
and
- THIS is the exception, crazy, extreme. (cue visuals of nature, community, plants, sunlight).
If you haven't seen it, look it up.
So my civil disobedience, my raw purposeful defiance of this propaganda, of a world constantly training my disconnection, is a daily practice. Civil Disobedience, my active, open, and peaceful refusal to follow the direction of a system that does not have my best interest at heart.
- When I do my yoga and be present to my breath moving in my body.
- When I chose to be present in a conversation, and allow myself to 100% lock-in to connection with another person, without distraction.
- When I wake in the middle of the night and choose to engage with the ideas and flow of thoughts in my head instead of blocking them out.
- When I sit and feel the suns rays on my skin, the breeze in my hair, and let myself absorb it all.
- When I choose to sit in the kitchen and make a real, whole, delicious meal for me and anyone else I can feed.
- When I give myself permission to leave somewhere that feels superficial or draining, and I feel my body thank me as I depart.
- When I honour the YES and the NO answers that my body provides me.
If you, like me, want to fight the system training disconnection, drop into Sister Science. It is our mission to stay connected, to be the antidote to the system that profits when we fight against ... each other, our body, our intuition, our human need for connection.
Sister Science shows up, every day, slow and steady, to keep connection. A practice, we do over and over, "fighting" against the constant barrage of disconnection messaging.
I want to say NO. I'm not interested in fighting my body, or beating my competition, or winning at the expense of someone else's loss. I'm interested in the radical, quiet act of staying connected - to my breath, to fresh air and sunshine, to the people across the table from me, to the YES and NO my own body already knows.
Imagine how much propaganda it took to convince us that disconnection was the default and connection was the extreme.
Come be extreme with us. Come drop into Sister Science.
